The Business of Podcasting
How to spread the word on social media & monetise your podcast
Get the inside scoop on what you need to know about the business of podcasting from Natalie Cutler-Welsh in this sneak-peek video with the content that she shared at the Asia Pacific Podcast Conference.
It was actually my husband’s suggestion, that I start a podcast to grow a following in the lead up to publishing my Parenting book ‘If Only They’d Told Me’.
I’ve always loved sharing my thoughts and seeking insight from others so I took to it straight away (although listening to our first few episodes is still a bit cringe-worthy).
Ours was a co-hosted podcast and Jacqui with her British accent and I (with my Canadian accent) would bounce ideas and stories off each other during our 30 min audio ‘show’. We would also interview people ranging from ‘parenting experts’ to every-day parents who had a story to tell and an experience to share. It did help us to launch and sell our book but there are definitely some things I wish I’d known from the outset.
So now, after 120 episodes of my parenting podcast and 100 episodes of my business podcast ‘Go to Girl’ and collectively over 95,000+ downloads I’m excited to share the why and the how behind the power of podcasting.
